6 Projects People Ask About Most

1.Oh my! I need a Cleanout!.
We all need, from time to time (and sometimes more than that!) to weed out the things we do not need, want, use, or wear. I personally do this at least twice a year. I find just before changes in the seasons is the best. You have a fresh start AND it allows you to know what you need to get for your home, office, wardrobe, children and not duplicate anything. My theory is that: IF you have not looked at it, used it, worn it, eaten, or even thought about it in a year…. you never will. Whatever the object is, if you are not using it, it is not important to have. (kids, parents, spouses and in-laws aside!) Also, if you have been avoiding your attic, basement, shed or storage unit for quite some time? It’s time!!

3.Geez, I really am Moving!.
Nothing is more stressful than moving. No matter how old you are, it is daunting. You never know how much “stuff” you have until you move. I have worked with countless people who would rather not move than deal with moving! That is where I come in. Another set of eyes, ideas and hands is crucial when you are moving on to your next home and adventure. I provide everything you need to make that transition as smooth as possible as well as keep your sanity at a manageable level at the same time. From helping to sort all your possessions, to disposing of what you are not taking either via donations, estate/garage sale or auction house to packing and coordinating the movers. I will meet with you and develop a game plan to get you to the finish line.

4.Wow! I really gotta Downsize!.
Are you ready to downsize and it is overwhelming and stressful? It goes with that life-changing decision. That is where I come in! It is never easy to sort through a lifetime of all that you have accumulated. It is difficult to decide what to take and what to leave behind (I will manage that part as well). If you have not used it prior to downsizing, you will not after. It is human nature to fret over what to keep in your life and what not to. Letting go of children’s schoolwork (ok to save if you want to scrapbook or give to them. I am happy to scrapbook for you as well!), old photos, home décor, clothing. Ask yourself: (I will ask as well!)
• What do I really need for this next chapter of my life?
• What is important?
• Will I ever use this, look at this, wear this again?
• Will my children want it?
My goal is to help clients reach those conclusions. You can get rid of anything; you can never get rid of memories. That is a good thing to remind ourselves.

5.Yearly. Ugh! I open and close my Second Home!.
Have a second home that needs to be opened (and closed) for the season and want to ‘hit the road running’ when it is time to enjoy it? That is another area where I help clients to make that happen. I can ‘open’ the house for the season in any number of ways: Putting screens back in, planting flowers and flowerpots, putting out the summer furniture, hang outdoor lights, stock the pantry, organize your necessities, meet contractors if work is being done, etc. When the season is over, I close it all down neatly and in an organized manner to make the next season a breeze again.

6.It’s a lot! Maybe I should run an Online Auction!.
If you have valuable items or ones that are in good shape to pass along, we can look at online auctions! It is remarkable how much there is out there! I collaborate with a great local auctioneer who takes the time to look at your possessions, gauge their value and present them in the best possible manner. If what you do not want to keep seems better for a garage/yard sale, I will coordinate that and do all the work as well as be there to run it. It is hard to let go of things you spent a lifetime accumulating but I try to look at the process as such: It gave you what you needed, and it is time to pass it along. Someone, somewhere will appreciate it.
